Service 05 of 12 — Rehabilitation & Counselling

Talking to someone is not weakness. It is maintenance.

Everything else the Forum does assumes you can get up in the morning and face the day. Sometimes that is the part that needs help first, and there is nothing shameful in that.

If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or you are not safe right now, please call 7868878688 or Tele-MANAS on 14416 — both are free and available right now. If you are in immediate danger, call 112.
  • A counsellor, free and confidential — by phone, by video, or in person at a Hope Haven centre. A woman, always, unless you ask otherwise.

  • What people come to us with — grief and bereavement, the aftermath of violence, anxiety about money and children, the exhaustion of doing everything alone, a family member who is drinking, and simply having no one to talk to.

  • Partner rehabilitation centres — for de-addiction, for recovery after violence, and for longer-term residential care, we refer you to licensed centres we have visited, and we stay in touch while you are there.

  • Safe shelter — if you cannot go home tonight, call 7868878688. We will not ask you to explain yourself first.

  • Support groups — other women in the same position, meeting weekly at each centre. Many women say this helped more than anything else.

How we write about this, always: nothing on this site describes a woman as a victim, a case, a beneficiary or a survivor unless she has used that word about herself. We promise no cure, no timeline, no outcome. No photograph of any identifiable person appears anywhere in this section, and we publish no counselling testimonial at all, however willingly offered — a consent given at a low moment cannot be relied on later. Publishing anything identifying a survivor of certain offences is also a criminal offence under Section 72 of the BNS.
